Letter from the Chairman to the Shareholders
Dear Shareholders,
The past year has marked a fundamental transformation for Medicortex. Following the reverse acquisition of Medicortex Finland Oyj, the change of name to Medicortex International AB (publ), and continued listing on NGM Growth Market (ticker: MEDFIN), we have entered a new phase – from a research and technology company to a listed medical technology company with a clear commercial ambition.
Our objective: to develop Medicortex's proprietary technology into a scalable, commercially successful diagnostic platform for traumatic brain injury (TBI), creating long-term shareholder value.
From science to product
Our rapid, non-invasive TBI diagnostic test is based on biomarkers identified in body fluids such as saliva and urine, intended for use close to the point of injury. Milestones to date include three clinical studies, research support from the U.S. Department of Defense, a growing patent portfolio, and delivery of first-generation urine-based prototypes to the U.S. DoD, with the next-generation product in development.
A significant commercial opportunity
The Company's current investor materials reference a global TBI diagnostics market expected to reach approximately USD 3.3 billion by 2029. Potential customers span hospital emergency departments, emergency medical services, sports organisations, and military and defence medicine – an area where Medicortex has an established relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense – with further potential in primary care, elderly care and occupational medicine.
Our ambition is to build a commercially scalable diagnostic platform.
A business model built to scale
Medicortex is evaluating a capital-light model built on professional manufacturing partners and global distribution partners, allowing the Company to focus its capital and expertise on technology, regulatory development, intellectual property, clinical validation and commercial partnerships.
Our priorities
- Advance development and optimisation of our diagnostic products
- Continue clinical and regulatory work required for market entry
- Strengthen and expand our intellectual-property position
- Establish scalable manufacturing capabilities
- Develop strategic commercial and distribution partnerships
- Prepare for market launch and international expansion – targeting market launch around 2029, subject to successful completion of ongoing clinical trials and regulatory approvals
- Maintain disciplined capital allocation throughout
We will increasingly measure our progress against commercial milestones: a market-ready product, regulatory progress, manufacturing readiness, strategic partnerships, customer engagement and, ultimately, commercial revenues.
Looking ahead
This listing is a starting point, not an end point. We are moving from research to execution, from technology to product, and from product development toward commercialisation. On behalf of the Board, I thank our shareholders for their continued confidence and patience, and the management team, scientific partners, clinicians and researchers who have contributed to Medicortex's development.
Our goal is to build Medicortex International into a commercially successful international medical technology company – and, in doing so, create meaningful long-term value for our shareholders.
Sincerely,
Anna Tenstam
Chairman of the Board
